Bridesmaid & Mother of the Bride FAQ's
What happens in a fitting?
The fitting is about us getting to know you and your dress/outfit. It’s an opportunity to discuss the amendments required to get it fitting beautifully and comfortability. You will need to try on your dress in our fitting room so that it can be pinned to your figure and height. This is the perfect time to make any other changes such as adding or removing any elements. Don’t be afraid to share your ideas with us as we will be able to advise you further and offer suggestions that you may not have thought of.
How many fittings will I need?
One fitting is normal, but there may be occasions when two fittings are required. We include a 1 x 20 minute appointment per person when you come to us. After that fitting time is charged at £30 per hour.
Who can I bring with me to my fitting?
We encourage you to bring the Bride-to-be and Mother of the Bride with you. Children are welcome provided an adult is present to supervise them. You will be our main focus.
How much will my alterations cost?

Standard adjustments such as taking up straps and shortening skirt length with low to mid volume skirts (1 - 3 layers) will be in the region of £60 - £100.
More extensive alterations to achieve the ideal silhouette and fit expect to pay £100 - £150.
We endeavour to provide you with an accurate estimate during your initial fitting but please note, it can be challenging to give an exact price for some alterations until we investigate the construction of the dress.
As awkward as it may be it is vital to decide who is paying for the alterations to your Bridesmaid dress. Please decide this before attending your fitting.
At your fitting we will take a £40 deposit for you alterations. Our prices include VAT.

How should I prepare for my fitting?

Make sure you’ve had something light to eat and drink prior to your appointment as you may be standing for a period of time.
Please only bring bottled water to your fitting.

What should I wear to a fitting?
We may need to take your body measurements during your consultation so please wear clothes that allow accurate measurements to be taken. Loose and baggy clothing is not suitable as it will add inches and will distort your body shape.
Please also bring your shoes, underwear, petticoat (if you are wearing one) and a hair tie / clip.
When should I book in for alterations?
As soon as you have your dress and shoes, we recommend booking in for a fitting and getting the process started.
Due to the high volume of garments we work on, we prioritise in order of event dates, not necessarily the order the garments come to us. This helps us to ensure that every item is completed in time and ensures we are able to fully focus on every alteration.
During busy times, we may implement a rush fee if the wedding is less than 8 weeks away.
